Sales Associate Job Profile

What does a Sales Associate do?

The Sale’s Associate’s responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about products and recommend the right solutions. You should also be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales Associate, you should stay up-to-date with product knowledge and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards.

Complaint handling is a critical part of this position. Turning a frustrated customer into a happy customer, while adhering to company policies, requires a combination of empathy and tact.

Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

Responsibilities:

· Greeting customers, responding to questions and providing outstanding customer service

· Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features

· Actively seek out customers in store

· Achieving established goals

· Directing customers to merchandise within the store

· Increasing store sales

· Superior product knowledge

· Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers

· Cross sell products

· Suggest ways to improve sales (eg. Merchandising)

· Loss prevention

Sales Associate Job Profile

Requirements:

· Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service

· Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner

· Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends

· Maintain a professional appearance and follow company dress code

· Solid communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management

· Telephone etiquette

· Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the store

· Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision

· Capable of lifting up to 50lbs

· Able to spend long hours on feet
