Job Description
Join our Etobicoke Colour X Team
What we’re looking for:
You are an energetic, passionate, creative, colour savvy Sales Associate / Paint Expert who is inspired to serve customers. You are respectful and friendly towards others and you thrive working in a high-paced atmosphere and are able to work as part of a team
Who we are:
We are Colour X an independently owned Benjamin Moore dealer with multiple retail locations. We are inspired by quality products that help bring home décor ideas to life and we are passionate about revolutionizing the customer service experience.
At Colour X, we take the time to educate our customers and recommend the best product for the job. We take pride in our work and we are committed to making the impossible, possible, through custom colour matches; custom stain matches; and décor solutions that best suit each customer’s needs.
We are a fun, collaborative and creative work environment and we offer competitive compensation and benefits package.
What we provide…
- Teamwork based environment
- Career opportunities and growth
- Cultural development
- A fun and creative work environment
Who you are…
- You are passionate about every shade and tone of colour
- You don’t mind getting your hands dirty
- You are excited to learn about new and different products (e.g. industrial products such as epoxies) and you constantly look to hone your existing skills (e.g. colour matching) and develop new skills (e.g. stain matching). You believe that expanding your knowledge on products is the best way to keep growing and learning
- You thrive working in a fast paced environment that sometimes requires shifting from task to task (e.g. multitasking between helping a customer at the counter, checking an order to ensure that it’s right before it goes out and tinting a sample for a customer) and you barely break a sweat
- You look at quiet moments as an opportunity to organize retail space, re-merchandise items on the floor or put product away because you believe that it’s the little things that help provide the best all around customer service
- You take pride in your work and you have a keen eye for detail (for example, noticing that the colour match you are working on is a shade lighter than what the customer wants – so you continue to adjust it until the customer is satisfied)
- You collaborate well with others and always welcome feedback from your colleagues. You see this as an opportunity to get better
- You are also comfortable providing suggestions that may help improve existing systems. You think outside of the box when it comes to improving or enhancing the customer service experience
- You are committed to following existing systems and procedures that help ensure the accuracy of each order that goes out
- You get excited to help educate customers on the best products they need for their job. You look at every customer and customer service experience as an opportunity to teach, grow and learn
- No matter what time your shift starts you always show up early and you look forward to sticking around a bit extra if a teammate needs a helping hand
- You enjoy working in groups on various projects that help enhance the overall customer service experience. This might include working together with a team to put together an online and in-store ad for an upcoming promo, or working with the advertising team to create our next radio commercial
- You understand the importance of being in communication with your team and with clients. On a busy day you make sure to let customers know that it might take a bit longer to complete their order. You also check in with your fellow colleagues to see if everyone is doing okay
- You know how and when to ask for help from your team
- You see the value in cultural development and are always open to change
- You are infinitely friendly and respectful towards all customers and coworkers. You provide all customers with a warm greeting and make them feel welcome and at home
