Sales Manager, Office Technology: Southern Alberta
The Sales Manager, Office Technology manages and motivates a team of Sales Professionals to achieve individual sales quotas, coaching and advancement. This sales leader will measure, monitor, and hold Sales Professionals accountable for their activities and results. They are also required to assist in making account calls with Sales Professionals, assist in account management, and effectively maintain Ricoh's value within our customers. As part of the employee development, it is expected that this leader will support and coach team members in sales, market trends and solution knowledge. This leader will mentor each Sales Professional individually while also building a strong cohesive, collaborative team. They will be responsible for monitoring forecasting efforts and delivering results. This leader is guided by the Office Technology Strategic Plan in conjunction with Ricoh's Core Values.
The Ricoh Office Services portfolio includes Hardware, Ricoh Graphics and Software that improve customer businesses. The position is also responsible for People Management activities, including but not limited to: hiring, coaching, performance management, development, corrective action and termination.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Office Technology Services Sales team to aggressively grow overall revenue and exceed revenue targets
- Coach, mentor and assist in the training and development of Sales Representatives to support them in achieving their business and personal growth objectives
- Proactively manage Sales Professionals to specifics KPIs to ensure the proper territory management and activity levels to ensure team success
- Maintain positive and proactive line of communication between all lines of business as well as senior leadership; includes developing and delivering accurate forecast and attainment details during monthly business reviews
- Operate well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without requiring significant supervision. Can think creatively and independently to resolve conflict as well as solve problems.
- Develop strong partnership with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources; helping to create and maintain a bench of qualified talent, and hiring culturally aligned team members
- Hold sales team accountable to drive sales activities, achieve specific KPIs for existing and net new business.
- Coach and develop talent.
- Assesses talent and identifies strengths and weakness.
- Coach sales team through Ricoh's defined selling methodology ensuring they grasp the fundamentals and hones their abilities to meet high standards
- Create development plans with sales reps to continually challenge them to raise the bar
- Promote digital selling techniques and outreach, open and adaptable to new selling strategies
- Assess and implement best practices and develop strategies to maximize revenue opportunity with existing customer base
- Work with Business Development to manage, measure, and drive Net New and expansion Office Technology sales pipelines and activities
- Work with marketing to develop programs and promotions to drive new opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:Qualifications:
- College or university degree, or equivalent experience in a related field
- 5+ years prior experience selling in a quota-carrying role
Preferred
- 3+ years of prior leadership experience managing sales teams within Office Technology
- Track record of building, coaching, and enabling a rapidly growing team
- Experience selling into a variety of industries and regions as well as experience cultivating larger, strategic relationships and opportunities
- Quota-attainment record of meeting and/or exceeding targets by managing process for identifying, qualifying, & closing new business as well as and not limited to growing an existing install base
Skills
- Strong selling skills, with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication abilities to work within a professional, team-oriented environment, Attention to detail is critical
- Proven track record of technology, software and professional services sales, leadership and integrity
- Experience in setting goals by defining and prioritizing specific, realistic objectives is required
- Ability to maintain positive, productive relationships with co-workers, peers, management, sales, and production departments and ability to motivate individuals and groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – includes excellent reporting and forecasting skills.
- Ability to recognize market trends by collecting, organizing, and analyzing statistical data
- Ability to remain updated on current technology and trends in the industry
- Independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions, and act in solving problems
- Ability to understand and manage financial reporting including P&L reports

- Requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as this position involves local travel on a regular basis (and auto insurance coverage per Ricoh's policy)
