Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions and/or designate, the Secretary III provides clerical support to the Mental Health & Addictions team. The secretarial team is responsible for ensuring that the offices are run in a smooth, efficient and professional manner and that good working relationships are fostered within their respective sites as well as with the Inpatient Units. The Secretary III supports the clinic’s priority of client-centred care by providing a friendly and non-threatening reception for clients. The Secretary III meets standards of professionalism which reflect the vision, mission, goals and objectives and adheres to the policies and procedures of Mental Health & Addictions.
The Secretary III may be required to work at sites other than their home site due to vacations or leaves-of-absence and when doing so is responsible for efficient operation of both sites at such times.
The Secretary III ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized office administration program with medical terminology and transcription required
- Minimum of two years’ recent related experience, preferably in a medical setting required
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Typing skills – minimum of 60 words per minute
- Demonstrated current knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Able to transcribe dictation in a prompt and accurate manner
- Demonstrated communication skills & excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationships
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated judgment and decision making skills
- Demonstrated planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
- Experience in a health care or hospital setting an asset
- Knowledge of Meditech (CWS and Admissions) an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$20.36 - $23.14 hourly
