The opportunity: The Supervisor will provide day to day supervision of the security team.

What you will do:

• Supervision and management of the day-to-day operation of a Security department of over 15 Third Party contract security officers.
• Assist in recommendation and implementation of personal and property protection programs.
• Respond immediately to any request for assistance from customers, tenants, and employees.
• Respond immediately to all emergencies and co-ordinate activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist with training and development of Officers.
• Assist in completing and updating training materials, Crisis Plans and other documentation as it pertains to the department.
• Assist in the management of annual security budget and preparation of annual budget projections.
• Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Security Manager.

Who you are:

• College diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Security Administration would be an asset or three (3) + years of experience in retail environment.
• Must have a valid Security license under the Security Guards’ Licensing Act.
• Must have valid “G” Class Ontario driver’s license and be lawfully permitted to drive.
• Proven supervisory experience is an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety and Employment Standards Legislation is an asset.
• Be a self-motivated, diplomatic, and confident individual to deal with tenants and the public.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize workload.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR/Defib certificate.
• Thorough knowledge of legal authorities as it pertains to the Trespass to Property Act and Criminal Code of Canada.
• Able to interact effectively with a third-party staff, tenants and visitors and Management team.
• Police Clearance – A criminal verification check is required for employment.
