Position overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee and manage the security operations of multiple stores within our organization. The Security Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and assets, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in security operations and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily security operations for multiple retail stores, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of security personnel, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to optimize their effectiveness and professionalism.
- Develop and implement security protocols, standards, and procedures to mitigate potential risks, maintain order, and prevent unauthorized access or activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of store premises to identify security vulnerabilities, weak points, or safety hazards, and take appropriate measures to address them.
- Monitor and analyze security-related incidents or suspicious activities, promptly investigating and reporting any incidents to relevant stakeholders while implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with store managers, loss prevention teams, and law enforcement agencies to develop strategies and programs that deter theft, minimize inventory shrinkage, and protect company assets.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect company assets, personnel, and customers. Monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems, to identify potential risks and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits at each store location. Identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and implement preventive measures to minimize security threats.
- Conduct investigations into security breaches, incidents, or violations. Collect evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for each store, ensuring all employees are trained on evacuation procedures, crisis management, and first aid. Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services as required.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in security systems, equipment, and surveillance technologies, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
- Foster a positive and customer-oriented security culture, promoting excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Security Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of security operations, including access control, CCTV surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Sound understanding of risk assessment and security best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, vendors, and law enforcement agencies effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.
- Proficiency in using security management systems and software.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform security-related tasks for extended periods.
- Willing to work in our Head Office in Richmond Hill
