The Senior Director, Operations and Reporting Excellence will lead the teams accountable for Change and Release Management, Incident Management, Agile Centre of Excellence, and Reporting and Governance. In this role the Senior Director will work closely with the LTA product, platform, and services teams, driving the processes and tools needed for the efficient and effective operations of LTA as organization that delivers with elite delivery effectiveness and operational stability. This role will work closely and report directly into the SVP, Technology and Analytics Platform & Operations.
Lead several teams of around 100 people total, with the objective to ensure that the operations and reporting associated with Loblaw Technology & Analytics (which drives almost $1 billion of technology spend) is operating efficiently and effectively
Be accountable for the areas of Change and Release management, Incident Management, Agile Centre of Excellence, and Reporting and Governance across all projects, products, platforms and service
Change and Release Management: Govern and transform the processes used to ensure technology changes are smooth and stable. This includes enterprise regression testing of our most important journeys, and environment management for our largest and most complex environments
Incident Management: Lead and transform the LTA incident management process, which oversees the resolution all major issues impacting our stores, distribution centres, and digital assets affective our customers and colleagues
Agile Centre of Excellence: Lead and accelerate our agile transformation, operating the Agile COE to make tangible impacts to the flow of work delivery across LTA
Reporting and Governance: Lead and optimize the project delivery processes, reporting of the projects, and reporting on all aspects of LTA’s performance, from operational stability and program delivery to financials and security currency
Develop highly effective working relationships based on trust and competence, with an ability to make change happen through passion, influence, and respect
Identify and implement improvements to efficiency and effectiveness – the areas of accountability are critical to LTA and Loblaws as a whole. You will be required to understand what’s working, what’s not, and passionately motivate change that helps the teams provide better and ground-breaking value as service providers to LTA
Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, skills that will drive teams to reach full potential through the ability to create and champion and positive vision and future state
Expertise and capability to identify the root cause of issues, articulate the desired result, and drive new ways of working with a balance of kindness and high expectations
Relationship Alliance Building – A track record of building strong relationships with internal peers and business partners
Proficiency in Clarity, Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr-Scale and understanding of Dev/Ops and CI/CD principles, toolsets, and test automation practices
Excellent Planning and Organizing – Ability to move from vision to tactical implementation, so that people now the priorities and how to execute on them. Masterful as identifying and removing roadblocks to success
Experienced in working in a cloud-first, agile-first, modern technology organization. While we have remaining on-premise, waterfall, traditional applications and teams, we are moving to become cloud-first, agile-first. The successful candidate will bring an understanding of what excellence looks like in both traditional and modern technology environments and be able to champion the transition to the modern
