The Position:
In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, we are seeking a Server to join our team. The Server is responsible for serving meals to residents and guests in a dining room setting, cleaning and completing other related duties. Effective Communication with servers and residents is vital to the success of this role. This position provides excellent hours for students or those individuals wishing to earn extra income.
The Location: This position is located in Saskatoon at Luther Riverside Terrace.
Accountabilities:
- Take food orders from residents & guests
- Deliver all aspects of meals to the tables in a professional and timely manner
- Clear tables as needed and reset
- Assist with cleaning of the kitchen service area and assist with prep work
- Assist with dishwashing as assigned
- Assist with closing duties
- Tracking of resident meals
- Abide by dress code
- Cooperate in meeting licensing standards
- Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene
- Maintain quality control initiatives
- Abide by Policies and Procedures of LutherCare Communities
- Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 education (preferred)
- WHMIS and Food Safe certificates are assets
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Ability to take direction from supervisor, cooks or host (if applicable)
- Ability to remain calm during high stress times and adapt to change
- Ability to organize time effectively
- Ability to operate equipment (computer, dishwashing machine, food service tableware)
- Knowledge of fire procedures
- Understand the proper techniques of serving
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
- Physically able to perform the work assigned
- Ability to effectively communicate with seniors
- Ability to work independent of supervision
Experience:
- Experience in food service industry
- Experience working with seniors an asset
