Crossroads Children's Mental Health Centre (CCMHC) provides a wide range of mental health services for children under the age of 12 and their families. We specialize in social, behavioral, emotional and mental health concerns such as aggression, impulsivity, social skills, anxiety, sadness, depression, fear, and suicidal thoughts. CCMHC is committed to ensuring that all programs produce effective and positive outcomes for clients through evaluation, research and the incorporation of evidence-based services and practices. CCMHC is committed to inclusive and equitable services that provide culturally strengthening interventions to promote positive mental health and wellbeing, through direct service delivery and/or referrals to partner organizations.
We are looking for 2 Child & Youth Workers, contract positions to March 31, 2024, to work with families in their homes. A vehicle and driver’s license is required. This position requires working evening hours three times per week and may require occasional weekend hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Completion of the requirements of a Child and Youth Worker Diploma or Bachelor of Social Work or Counselling, Psychology or equivalent degree. (Essential)
· A minimum of three years relevant children’s mental health experience (Preferred).
· Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of treatment, the developmental and care needs of children, and family dynamics.
· A broad knowledge of management strategies to support children with social, emotional and behavioural issues.
Training in the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Approach is considered an asset.
