Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing consistent and ongoing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with self care and household tasks/routines to promote self management
- Preparing and administering daily medications
- Assisting with meal preperation and/or cooking meals for the resident
- Accompanying the resident to and from appointments and recreational activities within the community
- Assisting with money management and personal goals
Position Requirements:
- One year certificate in a related human/social service field with an emphasis on community living services or equivalent training/experience
- Experience with personal care and medication administration an asset
- Exhibits a healthy attitiude towards normalization principles and is aware of their position as a positive role model
- Ability to demonstrate written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Have knowledge of and experience in Behavior Management
- Able to meet applicable Ministry legislation and regulations (e.g. Community Care and Assisted Living Act and applicable regulations) and agency policies
Employment Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Night shift excluded)
- Current Driver's Abstract
- Current Emergency First Aid with CPR - Level C Certificate (Can be obtained during orientation)
- Valid Food Safe Certificate (Can be obtained during orientation)
- Current and negative Mantoux Tuberculin (TB) test
- Good general health and physically able to perform the duties of the job
- NVCI or MANDT an asset
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
