LOCATION: Vernon, BC
START DATE: ASAP
HOURS OF WORK/SHIFT:
* Full-time permanent - 4 days on / 4 days off - 10 hour shifts
- Shifts include all of: 7am to 5pm, 11am to 9pm, and 1pm to 11pm
· Rotational shift work – includes days, evenings and weekends – averaging 35 to 40 hours per week
*We are also looking for people to join our team as casual employees to take shifts when regular staff are ill or on vacation.
JOB SUMMARY: As part of the Specialized Homes team, the CYW ensures the physical and emotional safety of the children and youth in our care.
The CYW works to support children and youth between the ages of 6 and 17 to achieve their goals through life-skill development, including in-home routines, pro-social/recreational programs, community outings, etc. Most importantly, the CYW ensures a safe, structured, stable and predictable home environment by following individual programs, routines, and working as a team.
WAGE: Starting at $26.74 per hour, depending on education and experience. This position requires Union membership.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
· Education and Knowledge: 2-year Human/Social Service Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
· 2 years recent related experience

- Consolidated Ministry of Children and Family Development Prior contact check
- Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check
- Successful completion of Mandt certification
