Senior Youth Worker
We are looking for day and evening full-time youth workers within our specialized housing. This position is salaried and includes a 4 day work week, with an optional 5th day.
St. Leonard's is not a religious affiliated agency.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and supervision to youth in a child welfare setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each youth
- Facilitate group activities and educational programs to promote social and emotional development
- Assist with conflict management and resolution among youth
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care for youth
- Maintain accurate documentation of youth progress and behavior
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth in the program
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Previous experience working with at-risk youth or in a child welfare setting
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Patience, empathy, and compassion for working with youth facing challenges
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Must have an unrestricted Class 5 driver's license.

Successful candidates will have basic first aid including CPR, an ability to work with youth who have experienced trauma and display challenging behaviors.
St. Leonard's provides trainings in crisis intervention, drug awareness, and more.
Must be willing to get medical clearance and to agree to an MCFD clearance check and a criminal record check. This process could take 2-6 weeks before orientation may take place.
Some driving required (Agency Provided Car).
All candidates must be vaccinated for Covid-19.
