Are you Registered Social Worker or a Registered Counsellor with a Masters Degree and experience working in isolated communities who is looking for an opportunity to work a fly in/fly out position in beautiful Nunavut? Are you looking for part time flexible position that will give you a unique opportunity to work with children in the North within the school system? If so, then this may be the contract for you! Our company is seeking a School Based Clinical Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have minimum five years clinical experience working with children, experience working in Nunavut and the ability to do onsite in Nunavut twice per year for approximately one week at a time and virtual service throughout the school year.

We are a team of Registered Clinical Social Workers and Registered Counsellors with decades of combined experience in providing therapeutic services to children and their families, developing and delivering capacity building workshops and providing therapeutic interventions for children in the school setting as well as school staff/parent workshops.
We hire independent professionals on contract to deliver school based positive mental health services to Nunavut schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide culturally appropriate clinical assessment and consultation as part of an Interdisciplinary team with school staff to provide therapeutic and behavioral interventions for identified students.
Collaborate with school staff and provide a detailed plan that can be implemented to support an identified student in the school.
Provide targeted strategies for groups of students or classrooms, as required
Provide, if required, consultation or a presentation to school staff on trauma informed behavior management strategies that are effective in a classroom setting.
Prepare session materials including activities and worksheets prior to student consultation
Provide follow-up support to school staff between visits as determined by school engagement
Complete all required clinical documentation including, but not limited to, Consultation Report Forms and follow-up Report Forms. Ensure the timely documentation of all required data
Ensure that all required documents are signed including consent forms, clinical documentation and treatment plans.
Maintain confidentiality and follow the guidelines set out by the school, Nunavut’s Department of Education and Journey Counselling and School Support
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Masters of Social Work or Psychotherapy with five years clinical experience working with children and adolescents.
Bachelors of Social Work or Psychotherapy will be considered with significant experience working in a clinical setting with children and adolescents.
Registration in good standing, with no terms, conditions or limitations with a provincial licensing body.
Experience working with children within a school and/or providing child therapy is an asset.
