The Position:
We’re on the hunt for an Engineering Student to join our Software Department on our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office. This is a 4 month term starting in September 2023.

As our Software Engineering Student, you will contribute as part of a team to the design, implementation, maintenance and testing of software solutions that are modular, extendable, testable, and efficient. As part of the team you’ll be encouraged to learn and take on flight and ground software development tasks that broaden your experience and skillset.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of more senior teammates:
- Participate in software solution designs for ground and flight systems
- Participate in documenting and communicating designs/plans
- Implement and test software solutions
- Learn new skills
- Review the work of others
- Participate in estimation efforts for new tasks
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve coding standards, tools, processes, etc.
- Other duties as will be assigned from time to time by management or a team lead
Requirements:
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Programming knowledge in one or more languages used at MDA
- Working towards a Bachelor degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with three (3) years completed
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
Beneficial Skills/Experience (any of the following)
- Agile development
- Continuous integration/build automation
- Embedded development
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
