We’re on the hunt for a Intermediate Software Engineer on our Geointelligence team at our Richmond, B.C. office.
The Role:
Our mission is to turn data into insight. From detecting changes in fragile ecosystems to monitoring northern ice floes and shipping routes, our near-real time data of Earth observation and the environment makes our Geointelligence team a leader in geospatial imagery, ground stations, enterprise geospatial systems and defense programs. As an Intermediate Software Engineer on our CP-140 Imaging Radar System program, you will participate in software design, coding, integration and testing, and system sell-off of an advanced multi-mode radar surveillance system for the Royal Canadian Air Force CP-140 Aurora fleet. The work largely involves real-time C++ software, JAVA, Digital Signal Processing and systems engineering. You will also:
- Analyze new GMTI/SAR processing algorithms and prototypes and incorporate it in the processor and simulator design.
- Provide digital signal processing knowledge to projects by implementing algorithms with tools such as MATLAB.
- Participate in the design, coding, implementation and testing of the processor and simulator.
- Participate in the processor integration into the full multi-mode radar system
- Generate technical documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create engineering solutions that are technically competitive, cost-effective and have direct impact to our customers
- Work from requirements to develop or modify complex hardware/software systems
- Plan work, drive your work to completion – on time & on budget
- Design, code, test, debug and document high quality software components
- Work with the team to complete the integration, testing and deployment of the software components into the full system
- Assist in troubleshooting problems at both the software and the system level
- Follow established development processes and corporate technical and quality standards
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/System Engineering or Computer Science
- With digital signal processing course(s)
- Working knowledge of Linux, MS Window tools, and software CM process (e.g., using Git and JIRA is an asset)
- One or more years of C++ and/or JAVA design, development and I&T experiences is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong math, analytical and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with the MATLAB programming language is an asset
- Familiarity with the VxWorks real-time operating system is an asset
