DUTIES:
A member of the Technology & Innovation team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Technology, the Technical Project Manager will be responsible for leading multiple projects at any given time. This includes creating a project framework, identifying the business needs, developing scope, coordinating resources internally and with stakeholders, managing budgets, timelines, communication, as well as being a technical hands-on resource for the project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years' experience providing IT support with knowledge on infrastructure design, software implementation, and migration methodologies.
- 3-5 years' experience managing projects - Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL, or Microsoft certifications are considered assets.
- A post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Must be a self-starter who can take innovative ideas/concepts and turn it into a project, from conception to completion.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to prioritize work, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Research and evaluate new hardware/software technology and assess cost-benefit and ROI (Return on Investment).
- Define roles, responsibilities/accountabilities, and determine clear deliverables.
- Oversee day-to-day technical operations of the project.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business process management, operational excellence, and sustainability knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service and/or client-centric environment.
- Experience coaching team members and colleagues, resolving potential conflicts and keeping team members motivated, engaged and on track to ensure delivery of excellent quality work.
- Proficient in running effective meetings, conducting project performance reviews, as well as engaging team members as necessary and facilitating clear accountability of the work.
- Experience working with both business and technical audiences on large information technology initiatives.
- Meet regularly with project stakeholders and define project goals and objectives.
- Lead budget, resources and project timelines.
- Establish and train teams on processes and strategies.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing; ability to effectively document processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and to promote safety awareness.
