POSITION SUMMARY:
Work days are Mon-Fri 845am-415pm working half and/or full days
Our Behavior Therapist will provide clinical instruction and behavior reduction protocols (based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis) to clients with Autism and related developmental disabilities in centre, the home, community, and school settings. Our Behaviour Therapists are responsible for collecting data on programs, assisting the Clinic Supervisor with clinical assessments as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provides direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Be flexible to work in different settings, working in centre but also on site daycares doing ABA therapy sessions in one on one sessions
- Follows the prescribed behavioural skill acquisition and behaviour reduction protocols.
- Follows and records data for prescribed toilet training protocols.
- Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable client behaviour.
- Effectively communicates with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Clinic Supervisor.
- Maintains client confidentiality.
- Assists in preparing client materials as instructed.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards.
BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Immunization Vaccine Record Required
- Vulnerable Criminal Background Check Required
- This can be a very intense and mentally demanding profession
- Comfortable with toilet training and changing diapers
- Must be able to handle a wide variety of behaviours including aggression
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred: Experience working with children ages 0-16 providing in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles ofApplied Behaviour Analysis; Educational, or Speech, experience
EDUCATION:
- Required: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior
Analysis, or related field.

- Employment Supervisor: Owner & Clinic Manager
- Clinical Supervisor: Clinic Supervisor (BCBA)
