The L&D Specialist will design, develop, and facilitate developmental courses and enhance or create strategic programming e.g., Aspiring leaders, Career planning, Mentoring and Succession enablement.The L&D Specialist provides and maintains the infrastructure and support mechanisms necessary to build, grow and sustain a learning culture. They are responsible for ensuring that HRM’s training and development opportunities are delivered efficiently, cost effective and tailored to staff development needs.The ideal candidate exhibits business acumen, and the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, and team members.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Consult and work closely with Business Unit partners in aligning developmental needs with training offerings and support employee growth and succession planning.Design, develop, implement and evaluate courses or programs across multiple delivery methods (instructor lead, eLearning and blended).Develop and implement supporting program framework to accurately and efficiently document project status, issues, and risks.Consult and work closely with Business Unit partners in aligning needs with training offerings that support employee growth and succession planning.Assess, design, coordinate and/or deliver programs related to HRM prioritized training needs.Maintain the HRM Learning and Development catalogue and develop communication strategies to promote continuous learning.Identify and monitor any training costs associated with the corporate training and development budget.Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines or handouts.Prepare data needed for proper tracking and reporting of key metrics and performance indicators; continuously monitoring and evaluating progress and results of programs.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Undergraduate degree specializing in Human Resource Management, Education and Business or a related area of study.Demonstrated experience in design and development of eLearning courseware.Experience in designing, developing and facilitating virtual eventsCertificate Program in Adult Education or related post-graduate studies considered an asset.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a training and development role.Experience and knowledgeable in adult education principles and practices regarding the design and delivery of experiential programming and organizational development.Experience with eLearning authoring software (Articulate & Captivate)Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).An equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredCompletion of HRM's Aspiring Leaders Program will be considered an assetSecurity Clearance Requirements: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge.
