Position: Winch Truck Driver
Location: Calgary, AB
Company Information
McJay Heavy Haul has been in operation for 25 years, and are looking to add one more position as we expand our operations. We currently operate with two winch trucks, one highway truck, two trombone deck trailers, a beaver tail and a heavy equipment trailer hauling over size loads and heavy equipment within Canada.
Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a Winch Truck Driver / Heavy Haul Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, transporting, and offloading oversized loads and equipment using a winch truck.
Essential Functions
· Travel to customer site; winch and secure required load onto trailer.
· Pull multi wheel trailer configurations as required by job.
· Travel to customer drop off site either independently or accompanied by various pilot trucks; upon arrival at site, unload.
· Ensure load securement equipment is maintained properly.
· Accurately complete all necessary paperwork including Field Level Risk Assessment prior to starting job and logbooks, truck tickets, vehicle inspections and time sheets throughout the duration of job.
· Perform other duties as required including various administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications
· Proof of a Class 1 License with clean driver's abstract.
· Minimum five (5) years experience with winch trucks and heavy equipment hauling.
· Must be mechanically inclined.
· Able to read, understand, and follow safety procedures & policies.
· Must be able to lift 50lbs
Working Conditions
· Work is performed across Western Canada mostly in Alberta however not limited to just this province.
· Transporting jobs can occur 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Maximum number of hours worked consecutively is outlined in the Traffic Safety Act.
Great attitude, flexibility and punctuality would be desired qualities in choosing a successful candidate. Hourly wages based on years of experience.
