Pepco Career Opportunity: Long Haul Truck Driver
Role: The Long Haul Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer truck hauling various petroleum products from Hearst, ON to Thunder Bay, ON numerous times per week. Loading and unloading from bulk plants/ loading racks to commercial customers. Includes following traffic regulations, drive defensively, and inspect company vehicles to guarantee their safety while on the road.
What you need to be a success at this role:
- Location: Must live in Hearst, ON or other nearby communities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid AZ driver’s license required and clean drivers abstract.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Additional skills:
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the loading and offloading of fuel products with a fuel hose. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Able to use a smart phone to conduct basic administrative tasks.
- Basic mathematic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
- Understanding of Electronic logging devices and Transport Canada Acts and Regulations.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts when needed.
- Ability and willingness to learn new things.
- Safety, service, and savings mindset.
