Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate individual to join our modern, full-service hospital. This would be a permanent, full time position which would include a combination of assistant work and reception tasks.
We have a lovely clientele from within Collingwood and surrounding area. Our services include routine care along with laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy and dental services including x-rays.
Experience in a hospital setting or working with animals is an asset, but not required. It’s most important that we find an individual who thrives in a busy, team environment and is confident when speaking with clients. Some of the tasks would include the following:
- Obtain and record patient histories.
- Restrain patients effectively and humanely for procedures.
- Triage incoming patents over the phone.
- Attend to client inquiries and concerns over the phone and in person.
- Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
- Take part in inventory management (eg. Ordering and organizing materials)
- Communicate with and educate pet owners via phone and in person.
- Maintain knowledge of preventative healthcare recommendations in order to answer client questions, provide education on vaccines, flea and heartworm products, and assist in marketing veterinary services from which their pet would benefit, such as a dental cleaning, senior wellness, spay and neuter and boarding.
- Process transactions from clients.
- Process and maintain pet insurance records.
