We are looking for an Executive Assistant to support the VP Office of the Industrial Research Assistant Program. The Executive Assistant would be someone who shares our core values of integrity, excellence, respect and creativity.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a number of administrative duties within the Vice-President's office including managing the VP’s schedule and calendar and the related materials; controlling, tracking and expediting the flow of documentation; using sound judgment to determine an appropriate course of action for inquiries; maintaining a good knowledge and understanding of the NRC and the Vice-President's office programs, policies and practices to determine the proper handling of incoming correspondence and requests; and liaising with staff at all levels in the NRC, with other members of the VP Office and other partners on behalf of the VP Office to facilitate management office operations.

Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial/territorial standards.
Candidates with post-secondary education or formal training in areas related to the position such as business, program or project administration or in the legal field, may be given preference.

- Experience in providing administrative support services to a senior executive level.
- Experience in managing and prioritizing all aspects of a senior level office including managing calendars and planning and scheduling meetings and related logistics.
- Experience in coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling meetings and planning for hospitality, and processing the related financial transactions ensuring compliance to policy.
- Experience in developing and maintaining administrative systems such as files, logs, and databases and ensuring compliance to classification standards (ie. Protected, secret, etc.) for records management purposes.
- Experience in drafting and proofreading notes, memos, letters, and written materials.
- Experience using MS Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
- Solid knowledge of general administrative, operational and financial policies, processes, procedures and reporting within a large organization preferably within a Canadian federal government context.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion, tact and sound judgement; especially when reviewing sensitive or confidential information and determining the appropriate course of action.
- Strong ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize time and competing priorities while working under severe time constraints.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients, staff and senior managers within the organization to address operational issues.

For this position, the NRC will evaluate candidates using the following competency profile: Management Services
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.
From $60,143 to $70,963 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
