Position Overview
Account Managers are hired to produce year over year revenue growth. They carry the full accountability of nurturing new, existing, and past customer relations while contributing substantially to new customer acquisition. Account Managers are expected to find and convert qualified sales leads to closed sales.
This role will have a focus on selling to K-12 schools, as well as to universities and colleges.
The difference between accountability and responsibility, simply put - responsibility can be shared, accountability cannot.
Accountable – A task or objective that the individual has complete ownership of the results. If things are off track, the individual is expected to immediately take appropriate reasonable action to address any concerns, obstacles, or challenges that are preventing the objective from being reached.
- Revenue – Meeting or exceeding individual targeted revenue numbers.
- Gross Profit $ - Meeting or exceeding individual targeted gross profit contribution.
- Proposals submitted – Meet or exceed individual target for proposals submitted (weekly.)
- Building and maintaining an accurate CRM database – Logging customer contact and opportunities.
- New Customer Acquisition – Effectively prospecting clients in systematic and professional manor.
- Business Planning – Account Managers will produce a business plan and present to management outlining revenue, customer growth, and gross profit on an annual basis. Although the revenue plan does not change during the year, the Account Manager is expected to review with their Manager as needed to adjust strategy and maximize market opportunities.
Responsible – A task or objective where the individual will have shared ownership of the results. If there is a challenge, obstacle, or concern in this area the individual is expected to address with reasonable action or communicate to the appropriate team member or manager so that the obstacle can be addressed and corrected promptly.
- Regional Profitability – Identifying opportunities to solve problems and promote operations in creative and efficient ways.
- Regional Revenue - Driving business locally, identifying opportunities in the region that will contribute to year over year revenue growth and meeting or exceeding budgets.
- Customer Satisfaction– Maintain high NPS scores, follow up and resolve any outstanding customer issues.
Position Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced with prospecting and territory management.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Minimum 2+ years of outside sales experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
- Experience in the audio-visual industry would be considered an asset.
- Post secondary education would be considered an asset.
