We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant based out of our Eastern Canada office located in Toronto, Ontario.
Reporting to the Controller the successfully candidate will be responsible for performing such duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you from time to time by your manager which would include but not limited to:
- Monthly reconciliation of Inter-company accounts for North America and Germany and balance sheet accounts.
- Maintenance of setting up budget in ERP software.
- Monthly reconciliations and analysis of Company Budgets producing budget actual reports to departments with full analysis.
- Overhead (Department Actuals) Reporting on quarterly basis.
- Process creation for current and past responsibilities example: AP & payroll, reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly HST reconciliation, government remittances for payroll, WSIB and WCB
- Assist in preparation of year end audit/review.
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll journal entry and year end payroll reconciliation with payroll provider.
- Maintain overhead time allocation report for monthly project billing and distribute associated summary reports for management.
- Elevate systematically and immediately delays, errors, discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly billing for time allocation and expense chargebacks
- Daily update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (Reconcile bank accounts, track daily bank deposits via EFT and daily bank transactions).
- Research, track and restore accounting discrepancies.
- Promote a collaborative work environment.
- Participate in cross team training meetings and share your knowledge and ideas with other members of the team.
We would like to review your application if you have the following minimum qualifications:
- University Degree in accounting required.
- 5 + years of accounting experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a strong asset.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- Excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and understand large volumes of financial data.
- Quick learner who possesses a high sense of initiative, strong problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with proven efficiency to handle multiple projects at one time, both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work under time constraints with strong attention to detail
Where you will be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
- This position is based out of Toronto, Ontario.
- The base hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on the business needs.
