DBS is looking for a full-time Accounting Technician to join the growing team. This role can be remote, and will require candidates to supply their own technology to outfit their remote office.
What are you responsible for'
- Maintaining books and completing bookkeeping related tasks for a wide variety of clients
- Troubleshooting and supporting clients as required
- Calculating and preparing GST/HST, payroll and other government remittances
- Preparing personal and corporate income tax returns
- Completing WSIB and EHT filings
- Ability to identify and solve problems related to accounts, journal entries or reconciliations
What will you bring to this role'
- Post-secondary education in accounting (or related field)
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a Canadian accounting firm
- One (1) year experience preparing Canadian tax returns T1 and T2 is required
- Proficiencies in computer software, including: Microsoft Office Suite, Quick Books Online and Desktop.
- A positive and can-do attitude, while working in a team or independently
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
