SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable Clerk and is a key member of the Finance team at Rokstad Power. This includes regular interaction with all the departments of Rokstad including field staff. The role calls for flexibility, an enthusiastic personality and the desire to assist the other members within the growing team at Rokstad Power.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, bank deposits and post customer payments;
- Prepare, verify, post and submit customer invoices;
- Generating reports and statements for internal use;
- Processing and recording Journal entry transactions;
- Research and resolve account discrepancies;
- Manage general Accounts Receivable inbox;
- Respond to client and internal inquiries;
- Reconcile client accounts;
- Setup client profile into system;
- Assist with year-end audit;
- Other duties, as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook along with excellent typing skills;
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy & efficiency in data entry and financial calculations;
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities and work independently;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required to prioritize a high volume of tasks or competing priorities;
- Able to meet timely deadlines and ensure appropriate response times;
- Solid interpersonal and excellent communication skills (both oral and written);
- Inquisitive, not afraid to ask questions and investigate alternatives before recommending solutions;
- Ability to build relationships with clients and work collaboratively in a team environment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CREDENTIALS
- College Diploma or Certification in Accounting/Finance field is preferred;
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable role;
- Familiarity with accounting software (ideally Microsoft Navision);
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (specifically pivot tables and Vlookup);
- Accounts Payable experience an asset;
- Bookkeeping certification and/or experience an asset;
- Knowledge of basic Accounting principles and practices;
- Construction industry experience an asset.
