We are seeking an Administrative Representative to work approximately 12 months in Insurance Strategy & Services section,
responsible for administering a variety of moderately complex to complex clerical and administrative support functions and for
administering moderately complex claim recoveries from external third parties. Responsible for providing detailed administrative
support to the section, operate and maintain databases clarify / explain insurance requirements to the Supply Chain Management
Division staff and outside contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Administer by investigating and adjusting Non-Disputed property damage claims within a fifty-thousand-dollar threshold.
Document the details of the incident with evidence from outside contacts and accident reports, establishing liability for the
damages; obtaining repair costs and achieving recovery from the responsible party.- Review work orders and billings for accuracy and appropriateness. Complete investigation into accidents by researching
multiple Manitoba Hydro platforms and websites such as SAP, EGIS, OMS, Locates, Damage Prevention reports, Provincial
Government Corporate Searches, Lotus Notes, Banner, Law Enforcement.- Contact responsible parties and coordinate recovery of damages with individual claimants, government bodies, insurance
companies and independent insurance adjusters.- Establish and maintain effective contact with internal staff, outside insurance adjusters, lawyers, brokers, law enforcement
agencies and related industry personnel.- Complete Final Release legal documents to conclude claims.
- Co-ordinate multi-claimant liability claims and liaise with independent adjusters, CSCs in support of the Manitoba Hydro
Administration Officer conducting the liability claim file in defense of Manitoba Hydro.
- Provide research assistance to Administration Officers on investigations into legal liability claims against Manitoba Hydro and
those claims pursued by Manitoba Hydro against outside third parties. Occasionally accompany Administration Officers to
broker meetings for the corporation and attend loss scenes during investigations to observe/record evidentiary details of the
scene.
- Prepare service entries, and other transactions related to contracted insurance services using SAP. Reconcile VISA and
expense transactions for Insurance Services using SAP Travel and Expense Management system.- Assist Claims Administrator with Power Disturbance Claims – issue cheques with correspondence to claimants, enter on
Lotus Notes, maintain a summary of all claims and total amounts paid, and other detailed administrative functions.- Advise Claims Representative with Plant Damage Recovery claims as required. Review public contact damage reports and
determine whether billable.- Administer the Unmanned Air Vehicle – UAV – Drone insurance program. Interact with Broker and internal departments;
prepare bordereaux of licensees and drone units for MH, Broker, and Insurers.- Produce claim bordereaux reports for MPI and City of Winnipeg claims as required.
- Identifies process change improvements for claim intake and adjusting activities.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 education plus three years related experience with insurance contract and/or claims handling
OR- Minimum Grade 12 plus completion of related post-secondary courses that can include courses as part of a General
Insurance Essentials (GIE) certificate or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and two years of related
experiencing with insurance contract and/or claims handling.- Demonstrated ability and working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Lotus Notes, and SAP. Banner experience an asset.
- Familiar with Corporate policies, procedures, collective agreements and regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Willingness to perform routine work with diligence.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $1,940.12-$2,587.12
Bi-weekly/$50,443.12-$67,265.12 Annually.
