Environment and Protected Areas is looking for an experienced Administrative Professional to provide financial support services, Operations Division. If you’re the candidate that enjoys working with numbers and financial reports, then this is an ideal job for you!
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Unit Leader, you will be responsible for the delivery of financial requirements for the Region. The major responsibilities include contract administration, financial administration and supervision of staff.
Duties include but no limited to:
- Provide assistance and advice regarding preparation, development and administration of contracts in accordance with Policy, Procedure and Guidelines.
- Provide expertise, support and assistance in the preparation of monthly forecasts and budget documents; run reports in 1GX and produce adhoc financial reports as required to support program needs.
- Ensure financial practices are followed in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines and in accordance with program delivery and goals.
- Manage and train staff on administrative, financial and other related processes when required.
- Supervise staff and ensure that they can meet their operational goals.
- Ensure that staff members are dealing with external clients, the general public and stakeholders in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
- Other related duties pertaining to financial management, contact administration and general responsibilities.

High School Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, Computer Applications or related and four (4) years in financial roles such as accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting or bookkeeping, budget administration, or payroll.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 years of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year education.
Additional Assets to be successful in this role:
- Experience using Government of Alberta and ministry specific programs and applications including FIRES/CAS and SAP.
- Experience working with of financial policies, procedures, agreements, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role will be preferred.

$2,042.85 to $2,511.73 bi-weekly ($53,318 - $65,556/year)
This position work Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
