- Payroll and Benefits administration
- Prepare and administer full-cycle semi-monthly processing of hourly and salaried payroll for Canadian team members
- Act as key point of contact for our PEO regarding U.S. payroll and benefits, including administration of Workers Compensation Plans and State registrations
- Prepare reconciliations, payments, and payroll changes relating to various extended health benefit carriers
- Research payroll & benefits information and/or documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures before processing
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external sources regarding both payroll and benefit matters
- Manage all vendor relationships for payroll and benefits administration
- Build and maintain controls, processes and procedures for scaling the payroll/benefits program
- Onboarding/offboarding coordination
- Scheduling and coordination of training sessions and time blocks
- Work closely with Operations Coordinator to identify opportunities for improvements to processes and training
- Ensuring timely completion of security onboarding
- Administering onboarding assessments
- Software license/permission administration
- Support key People Operation projects that include rolling out new tools, systems and processes aligned with business objectives

- Demonstrates exceptional organizational, analytical, and creative skills to solve problems with limited resources

- 3+ years of progressive experience as a People Operations (HR) Specialist
- 2+ years demonstrated knowledge of managing a payroll and benefits program in a rapidly scaling environment
- Awareness of maintaining confidentiality & the use of discretion
- Self-direction, taking initiative & proactive approach with excellent project management skills
- Laser focused when it comes to attention to detail and accuracy. You exhibit flexibility, prioritization & the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Candidates must be based in Canada in order to be considered.
We are organized as a remote team, as such we are looking for candidates who can work effectively remotely. You must have access to a secure high speed internet connection and a secure workspace to ensure security of private information. This role is available on a permanently remote basis.
Due to the nature of our business the chosen candidate must undergo a criminal record check and a basic security clearance.
