Job Description
We are seeking a bookkeeping clerk for a junior position to assist with a multitude of companies.
The candidate for this role must be willing to learn and adhere to our company standards, be responsible, computer literate, able to multi-task and be highly motivated.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintains general ledger of accounts through daily recordkeeping including general data entry, verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements
- Ensure that A/P and A/R are accurately listed and up to date
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Write ups for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, etc.
- Organizing and sorting of documents
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparation of GST reports
- Payroll processing
- Other duties as assigned
- Word processing and document production duties, including preparation of reports and letters, photocopying, scanning and binding
- Receive, sort and distribute the mail
- Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
- Arrange couriers
- Assisting in preparing annual financial statements including year-end working paper preparation and preparation of internal financial statements
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- 1-5 years experience
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of an organization
- Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem solving
- Quickbooks online experience
