JOB SUMMARY
The Food Safety Coordinator at Legends Haul, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality within the meat manufacturing and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing food safety and quality programs, monitoring and auditing processes, and providing training and support to employees to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement food safety programs: design, implement, and maintain food safety programs and systems, such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to prevent, control, and mitigate food safety risks
- Regulatory compliance: stay updated with local, national, and international food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines, and ensure compliance throughout the organization
- Risk assessment and analysis: conduct regular risk assessments and analysis of food safety hazards, including biological, chemical, and physical hazards, to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively
- Training and education: develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on food safety practices, hygiene standards, proper handling, and storage of food products
- Audits and inspections: plan and conduct internal food safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with food safety protocols and identify areas of improvement
- Documentation and record-keeping: maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all food safety activities, including audits, inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and summaries for management and regulatory agencies
- Continuous improvement: stay informed about emerging food safety trends, technologies, and best practices
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working in a quality control or food safety position, specifically in the food and beverage industry is required.
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, and / or a current student in food science, microbiology, or a related field is an asset
- Familiarity with food processing, manufacturing, and distribution practices is an asset
- Prior experience in food safety auditing or regulatory compliance is an asset
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices, such as HACCP and GMPs
- Excellent understanding of food safety hazards and risk assessment methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and training skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
