Job Description
Truspace is looking for a customer service focused Construction Project Manager to join our busy and growing company. This person will be reporting directly to the Regional Director and will be responsible for a portfolio of projects and the overall delivery of the project performance, including costs, schedule, quality, project status, safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this position, incumbent will be a motivated and professional individual with proven project management and leadership skills. Your success will be attributed to strong interpersonal skills and ongoing focus on developing your skills to meet company objectives while demonstrating shared values of integrity, honesty, energy and teamwork.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review drawings for accuracy based on scope, schedule, and overall project requirements
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with client, consultants, subcontractors and project team
- Manager all aspects of the project
- Works with Site Managers and Supervisors to develop and monitor the project schedule
- Develops recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy
- Resolves Project Disputes in a timely manner
- Assists Site Managers and Supervisors in establishing and maintaining project safety culture
- Work with the accounting department to ensure project accounting is accurate and timely
- Chairs relevant consultant/owner project meetings and effectively communicates status of project
- Process all change orders
- Supervises, mentors, coaches, and trains project personnel
- Manages and participates in tender closings with assistance of procurement group
- Any other tasks as required
Qualifications and Assets
- 10+ years’ Project Engineering Management experience working on commercial, institutional TI projects required
- First Aid Certification and WHMIS GHS Certification are assets
- Excellent computer skills using Scheduling and Project Management software
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Demonstrates communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proven creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to designated job sites
- Strong focus on client relationships
- Extensive trades contacts
- Must have a valid Canadian drivers license
- Must speak and write fluent English
- Must be able to travel throughout the Calgary area
