You instinctively navigate social media channels, drawing in followers through your writing and inspiring visuals; and you get things done when deadlines are tight and still require great attention to detail. As a generalist, you bring your suitcase packed full of wide-ranging experiences, and you will embrace new challenges and opportunities with ease.
This broad role has its benefits – as a driven collaborator, you’re going to interact across the marketing team and other departments to see things from different viewpoints and bring new ideas to the table. You will influence existing and kickstart new projects. Your targeted approached will help us better engage with our existing TEC community, maximize our reach and help fulfill our vision of accelerating the growth and development of Canadian business leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General
- Assist with coordination and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns, including creating engaging content that will attract the right TEC audiences
- Support with TEC’s social media presence by developing interesting and shareable content, such as blog articles, social media posts, infographics, etc.
- Monitor and update TEC’s web content to ensure accuracy and consistency across the site
- Assist with email marketing, social media campaigns and event deliverables
- Bring fresh, new ideas to the Marketing team to support our content planning and strategy
- Develop a thorough understanding of TEC’s primary audience and be able to speak directly to them
Writing/Editing
- Write clear and concise copy and headlines for various types of marketing assets, including brochures, blog articles, campaign content, advertising copy, landing pages, website copy, emails, member testimonials, and other materials as needed that drives an increase in brand awareness, leads and online traffic
- Strong understanding of the latest strategies and best practices in content marketing, including knowledge of SEO, SEM, website optimization, basic keyword research, email marketing, and social media marketing
- Proofread and edit drafts of marketing and communications materials and provide thoughtful feedback on how to improve the copy for marketing purposes
- High standards, a sharp eye for detail that ensures consistency in brand, style, and tone across writing
Social Media
- Create engaging text, image and video content
- Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries
- Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or a similar major
- 5 – 10 years of marketing and communications experience
- Experience with social media marketing on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube
- Working knowledge of WordPress
- Knowledge of SEO and keyword research
- Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of Canva, SEM Rush and other current marketing platforms is a plus
- Supervisory or managerial experience is preferred
