About Nurture:
Nurture Learning and Development is a non-profit society founded by Dr. Kate Ballem Chase, SLP, and Patty Zimmerman, OT. Our mission is to provide outstanding, innovative developmental support to children and their families through direct service provision, and professional development. We work with a wide variety of preschool and school aged children and families and providing a range of interdisciplinary services.

Role & Responsibilities:
The Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is designed for Occupational Therapists who do not yet meet criteria for the Registered Autism Service Providers List. This CFY year provides a period of mentoring and experience to allow clinicians to develop specialized skills and meet RASP list criteria.
- Assessment and treatment in domain (SLP or OT) specific areas.
- Development and implementation of comprehensive intervention plans.
- Training of therapy assistants and interventionists.
- Parent coaching
- Collaboration with Nurture and community-based team members
After the completion of a successful CFY year, therapists will have a strong foundation of learning in a variety of areas including naturalistic, developmental interventions such as JASPER (Kasari, Gulsrud, Shire & Strawbridge, 2021), the Early Start Denver Model (Rogers & Dawson, 2009), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet criteria for licensure with the COTBC, and have significant experience and interest in pediatric populations. Nurture is seeking highly motivated, outstanding new clinicians who are committed to ongoing professional development and best practice.
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to quickly develop warm and caring professional relationships with clients and their families, Nurture staff, and community partners.
- High level of analytical and clinical problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the principles of evidence-based practice, and the ability to assess and interpret scientific literature.
- Strong understanding of child development across domains.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A strong desire to develop leadership skills and work collaboratively with a team.
Transportation, a criminal record check, and current First Aid certification will be required for this position.
Working Arrangements & Remuneration:
Nurture is a non-profit society operating on a fee-for-service basis. We are committed to ensuring that our clinicians receive a competitive wage. CFY clinicians will be employed by Nurture and will receive a combination of commission and salaried pay. The average income for a CFY clinician is approximately $70,000 with paid statutory holidays and three weeks of paid vacation and three weeks of paid sick leave. This is equivalent to an hour rate of approximately $35.98/hr.
Additional Benefits:
- Weekly dedicated supervision time from Directors.
- $500 Professional Development allowance.
- JASPER training (including 100% of workshop cost and 50% coverage of certification costs, a value of approximately $6500)
- RASP eligible upon completion of CFY year.
- Upon RASP listing, second year therapists who receive an offer of ongoing employment with Nurture become eligible for substantial pay increases with income ranging between $80-90,000 per year.
