Woodlands Operations Supervisor

Our Woodlands Operations Supervisor position allows you to plant your roots with Tolko. As a Woodlands Operations Supervisor, you would play an integral part in ensuring a sustainable supply of lumber to our local sawmill in High Level, AB. Overseeing the day-to-day activities of our valued contractor relationships, your project management, conflict resolution, relationship building, and forestry knowledge will be put to the test. We’re looking for a Woodlands Operations Supervisor to join our High Level Woodlands Team located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in Northern Alberta, covering an area of 3,794,652 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Experience in managing projects
- Leading a team to success
- Post-secondary education in Forestry
- Ability to build relationships with local contractors, stakeholders and First Nations Communities
- Unwavering commitment to safety while working in the field
- Self-directed time-management skills

Your work week will look something like this:
- Planning and development of cutting permits and working within Tolko’s Forest Stewardship Plan
- Managing, quality control and working with other professionals including RPFs, RFTs, hydrologists and biologists.
- Supervision and quality control for harvesting and hauling contractors
- Communication with First Nation partners, and Stakeholders such as tenure holders landowners, government, and communities.
- Good field to office balance. Expect 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days in the field each week.
- Flexible schedules. You are a professional empowered to manage priority initiatives and schedule your time accordingly.
