Why You?
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to join the InnServices team as the Utilities Operations Supervisor – Water, with a focus on distribution! In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight of operations of water systems including the areas of construction, operations, maintenance, service, dispatching, health & safety, and project coordination.
You will assume the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) accountabilities for both water treatment and distribution with another supervisor on a rotational basis as scheduled, and will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with all InnServices policies, procedures and applicable legislation and regulations when executing projects and tasks including maintenance activities and assigned operational capital projects.
- Supervising operational staff and directing work to ensure staff are adhering to applicable safety practices and qualifications for the work assigned.
- Coordination with maintenance staff, contractors and other InnServices and Town of Innisfil departments on maintenance activities and operational capital projects; implementing and monitoring adherence to all maintenance related plans and schedules and preparing reports on maintenance activities.
- Pursuing continuous improvement initiatives and exploring\recommending the use of innovative technologies that would serve to improve operations.
Job RequirementsThe ideal candidate holds:
- Post-secondary education in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Water or Environmental Studies or related field; possesses and/or is eligible for a professional designation (i.e. CET, C.Tech. or related).
- The ideal candidate possesses valid Class III Treatment Water Operator Certification and Class III Distribution and Supply Water Operator Certification in accordance with applicable M.E.C.P. requirements, legislation, and regulations. Candidates with higher classes in the certifications noted above are encouraged to apply. Note: as part of the Water Treatment Plant upgrade to a Class IV facility, the successful candidate will be required to obtain their Class IV Distribution and Supply Water Operator Certification.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in utilities services water treatment and distribution infrastructure environment, with a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license, in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business as required.
- Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
