The Opportunity
VoPay is currently looking for a Jr. Project Manager to join our team and help VoPay successfully manage engagements with partners and clients and deliver on agreed time, quality, and budget. This role provides the unique opportunity to lead the coordination and management of technology projects between internal stakeholders (technology/development/product teams) and external stakeholders (technology partners and clients).
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Responsibility of all assigned projects and deliverables.
- Work with internal/external stakeholder teams to assess business and implementation risks, guide the technical integration process, assist with technical problem solving and manage internal resources to resolve various project issues.
- Ensure the development of engagement plans, reports, documents, training and overall solutions as per agreements and commitments to partners and clients.
- Work to ensure the team’s success in delivery, primarily by helping to identify and especially remove impediments impacting the team’s ability to deliver.
- If required, act as SCRUM Master for certain initiatives.
- Review and reconcile project financials, communicating metrics/updates as required.
- Financial management of assigned projects including updating internal finance/invoicing systems.
- Act as a liaison between external and internal stakeholders for major partner and customer due diligence initiatives.
Processes
- Provide assistance to the project management leadership to design, document and implement the project management SOP’s that are the right fit for the business - processes, procedures and best practices that facilitate an agile, nimble and collaborative environment for delivery of products and services to the market.
- Champion and facilitate the adoption to the SOP’s by providing guidance and assistance as required to the internal teams.
Communication
- Facilitate proactive communications between project internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and communicate project-related issues, facilitate resolution, change, release management etc.
- As required, set up and operate project steering committees.
- Provide timely project status, budget, and risk reporting to VoPay management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years managing complex projects within a Software as a Service (SaaS) business model.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up as well as corporate environment.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt and adopt the methodologies to the environment
- Knowledge and experience with project management software.
- Experience in DevOps, Agile software development process/methods and tools like JIRA, Confluence etc.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, API etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and time constraints.
- Proven experience in prioritizing competing demands in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Experience resolving and communicating issues with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Payments industry work experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of risk management is an asset.
