Position Overview
The Department of Medicine the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Will be required to work flexible hours. Work may be repetitive at times. Work hours may vary when required to reach changing deadlines, workloads and priorities in a dynamic research environment.
This is a recurring part-time position with variable hours. Recurring part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Maintain optimal data recording practices
- Able to prioritize tasks to comply with research protocol needs
- Data entry into REDCAP
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist a team of Investigators and other researchers by providing database support
- Administrative duties including; organizing and filing of confidential study records, finding research articles in specific areas as directed by the healthcare team, compiling this information to be reviewed by the team
- Maintain communication with the healthcare and research team
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High school diploma required. Post secondary education an asset
- Demonstrated skills in database imputation in REDCAP an asset
- Maintains Confidentiality of Patient Information and Medical Records
- Strong Computer Skills, Microsoft Office suite, Sharepoint and REDCAP experience, email and internet programs
- Strong and effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, verbally and written
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to use the University of Calgary library system and familiar with PubMed
