We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join the dedicated, forward thinking Surety team in our downtown Toronto office.
FINANCIAL ANALYST / UNDERWRITER, DEVELOPER SURETY - Toronto
Developer Surety bonds are used by developers of residential projects to satisfy provincial legislation by providing warranty and deposit protection for new home buyers. Trisura is an approved issuer of Tarion bonds in Ontario, and provides deposit insurance and warranty coverage in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.
The successful applicant for the Developer Surety role will be responsible to assess the financial position and creditworthiness of new and existing developer surety clients, underwrite development projects for Developer Surety bond support, monitor developer surety projects, and provide recommendations to senior management. The ideal candidate is driven and results oriented with the capability to build upon and foster relationships with brokers and new and existing clients.

Responsibilities:
- Underwriting of new business applications.
- Analyzing financial strength and financial position of current and new business applications.
- Negotiating specific terms and conditions for the issuance of Developer Surety bonds.
- Monitoring of various development projects and exposures.
- Developing new business through networking/marketing with brokers, clients, developers, consultants, lawyers, etc.
- Gain and expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions.
- Representing Trisura at various developer associations and industry related functions.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in developer surety, surety, insurance, banking, cost consulting or other related role.
- Experience in a legal or real estate environment, an asset.
- Experience in Commercial lending, an asset.
