Aim Roads Inc. is the South and North Okanagan Road Maintenance Contractor. As a subsidiary company of Acciona Infrastructure Maintenance North America, you would have the opportunity of working with a sophisticated global organization. In this role, you would report directly to the AIM Roads Finance Manager and Project Director, and would work out of either the Armstrong or Summerland office. The Financial Accounting Supervisor, under the Finance Managers direction is responsible to supervise the Finance team to deliver quality accounting, reporting and financial support to key internal and external stakeholders in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise, in conjunction with project management team, the financial strategy of the project.
- Manage economic resources necessary to achieve company objectives, optimizing cash flows and profits.
- Manage financial and administration team to control the financial goals and evolution of the contracts. Identify needs and improvement opportunities within the team.
- Coordinate accounting and administrative activities on daily basis, being responsible for the whole team performance.
- Support and collaborate on the development of procedures for monitoring and analyzing budgets, accurate projection of expenditures and monthly comparisons of actual and budget spending.
- Define, manage and implement any new process sponsored by corporate and company management.
- Develop and implement the necessary financial and administration processes and procedures, applicable to the company, to provide accurate and reliable financial information.
- Coordinate activities in Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit, and Financial Analysis.
- Manage relationships and negotiations with financial institutions and Clients, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, Provincial and local laws, particularly applicable Occupational Health & Safety Acts, Construction Safety Act regulations and environmental requirements.
- Review monthly financial statements and P&L, as per the information required on a monthly basis from Corporate, analyzing deviations.
- Evaluate existing accounting system and procedures, recommending improvements if required, ensuring compliance with existing regulation/legislation.
- Perform and oversee account reconciliations and generate financial reports.
- Follow corporate standard accounting processes for financial analysis and reporting activities.
- Cooperate and assist the procurement and costing personnel, to keep track of current orders, deliveries, accruals and invoices.
- Identify and address accounting discrepancies, in coordination with company management, to ensure that all data is valid, reliable and accurate.
Essential Functions
- Manage financial and administration team to control the financial goals.
- Develop and implement the necessary financial and administration processes and procedures.
- Review monthly and quarterly financial statements (GAAP & IFRS).
- Treasury, cash management.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Liaise with external & internal auditors, legal counsel and tax advisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills – ability to build and maintain positive relationships with operating management, financial staff and other departments.
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-task team environment, take initiative, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office (Advance/Expert in Excel).
- Knowledge and comfort understanding and utilizing financial models.
- Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the Project Management and CFO.
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
- Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and an engaging, influencing manner with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge of projects, operation and maintenance contracts purchasing requirements is a plus.
- Highly developed organizational skills are essential.
- Problem solving capabilities and adaption to a constantly changing and challenging business environment.
- Knowledge of Explorer Accounting System and SAP is a plus.

Salary: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
