Position Summary
CIMCO is seeking a Senior Accountant based out of the Corporate Head Office (Burlington) to support our multi branch North American based organization. The successful candidate will be part of the Finance and Administration Team and report directly to the Assistant Controller and will gain an understanding of business operations throughout North America and will be accountable for the ongoing analysis / monitoring of operations, margin analysis and tracing of costs back to underlying activities.

Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AP team to ensure invoices processed are accurate
- Review processed invoices to ensure accuracy and ready for payment
- Perform monthly review of ITC claims on invoices
- Collaborate with the branches in closing projects timely
- Prepare weekly USD purchases exposure file for Treasury
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis.
- Prepares monthly / weekly reports with financial results and other applicable information as required.
- Monthly review of financial information related as part of close process and analysis of significant variances to forecast and budget.
- Analysis and investigation of month-end variances (expenses).
- Supports external auditors by coordinating information requirements.
- Add value to the organization; helping others members of the finance & administration team.
- Proactively communicates insights and analysis into current trends, performance and opportunities.
- Provides financial control (aka internal controls) information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Up to 10% travel to various branches to assist with branch audits and reviews
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Experienced in analyzing complex data to support timely and effective decision making.
- Experienced with SAP
- Exposure to US and Canadian sales tax would be an asset
- The ability to work effectively with and communicate financial information with all levels of management and across departments and skill levels.
- Excellent PC skills (particularly Excel) with ability to design and maintain complex financial models and analyze large data sets.
- The ability to prioritize work and consistently meet tight internal and external deadlines.
- Extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Being a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative, team based environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CA, CGA, CMA or CPA designation is preferred
Skills:
- Creation, analysis and dissemination of information.
- Research, investigative and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise judgement based on accounting principles and experience to resolve issues.
- Able to make recommendation based on accounting principles and business experience through investigation and analysis of source material.
