We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and provide financial support to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, reconciling accounts, and providing assistance with budgeting and forecasting. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in accounting.
Ideally, the right candidate will be:
- Excited by numbers, simple math, and problem-solving, and are content with repeat, detailed work.
- Passionate about small business & finances and enjoy educating others and seeing the impact of financial confidence in small businesses.
- Experience in a similar role with exposure to month-end, year-end, and corporate tax.
- Relevant education

- Hard worker with strong attention to detail
- Great communication skills and customer service skills.
- Can be innovative with out of the box solutions.
- Confident in meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Familiar with accounting software including QuickBooks & Xero
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and reports.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Meeting with clients to discuss monthly performance.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and financial records.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
- Analyze financial information and recommend corrective action as needed.
- Providing bookkeeping and payroll support when required.
