GENERAL ACCOUNTANT
Full-time permanent role: Hearst, ON
Role: The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial recording, reporting, and analysis. The General Accountant will contribute to maintaining financial integrity, supporting financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General Accounting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, by preparing relevant documentations.
- Financial Control: Work closely with departments, such as finance, operations, and management, to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Reporting: Complete various reports to support decision making throughout departments and the company. Assisting with preparation and maintenance of annual corporate budget and ongoing budget reporting.
IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business (Finance or Accounting)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a medium size business or public accounting.
- Language: Bilingual French and English, written and spoken required.
- Technology: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficiency using other Microsoft office applications. General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). User experience with an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) platform.
- Additional skills: Able to research and evaluate data to make informed decisions and solve problems. Collaborative attitude. Curious and believes in continuously learning. Financial information gathering techniques. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
