Plastic Plus is a Canadian Optical Lab located in North York. We manufacture Prescription Lenses and distribute across Canada
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for an AR and Payroll Clerk position
Qualifications:
- Able to work independently on a large customer account from beginning to end.
- Able to calculate employees work hours from National Time machine to process biweekly payroll.
- Able to understand workflow and anticipate potential issues before they arise.
- Able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency while having patience to deal with issues.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel: VLOOKUP, PIVOT Tables, Conditional Formatting etc.
- Previous knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting system
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Able to pick up on discrepancies/irregularities and relay that information to the appropriate parties.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Business is required
Job Responsibility
- Receive Cash from one major customer and apply to all the store accounts in Accounting system and in Excel Sub ledger
- Reconcile AR balance in the system and in Excel sub ledger after cash application for the month and prepare outstanding invoices template and send it to the customer
- Reply customer inquiries about paid or unpaid invoices and credits via email on a daily basis
- Deposit daily checks in RBC (CAD or USA) account via RBC’s RDC Scanner
- Enter cash receipts in Cash Journal Entry Worksheet to use for month end reconciliation
- Post Customer cash and discounts to balance Cash Receipts, VISA and online payment receipts e.g. Incoming wire transfers and EFTs
- Print cash reports to reconcile monthly Journal entry file with actual cash deposited in the bank and analyse the variances
- Opening new customer accounts and updating current customer accounts for online ordering and shipping.
- Maintain proper filing system required as per CRA.
- Prepare reports for Management as and when required.
- Help AP and AR staff on the month end or when required.

Salary: $22.00 per hour
Experience: 1 Year accounting experience is must (Accounts Receivable and Payroll) and strong Excel skills. 80% of the job functions require the use of advance Excel.
