JOB DESCRIPTION:
The role is ideal for an intermediate accountant. You will be working with our team to assist our clients in all accounting and taxation matters to help our clients meet their financial goals. The ideal candidate will be well versed in accounting, bookkeeping with experience in preparing Canadian personal and corporate tax returns and will be well organized and able to multi-task and have excellent written and verbal communication.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a college accounting diploma
· Minimum 3+ years of experience in a accounting environment with solid knowledge and understanding of Canadian personal tax returns & corporate taxes
· Excellent computer skills including proficient user of Microsoft Office, CaseWare, Doc it and an asset to have working experience with Profile tax software
· Communication and written skills are excellent, must be comfortable speaking to clients
· Experience working on Audit and Review Engagements is an asset
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which is deadline driven
· Able to work overtime during busy tax season
· Positive attitude and ability to multitask
DUTIES:
· Analyze financial information received from clients
· Preparing Financial statements and review working papers
· Preparing corporate, personal and trust returns along with HST returns
· Complete T1 returns ranging from intermediate to complex
· Coordinate with clients to gather information and be available to answer questions
· Communicate with Canada Revenue Agency to resolve any client issues
· Drafting correspondence related to client engagements
· Perform all job functions abiding by the office/work standards
· Assist in other duties, as required
