We are currently seeking a temporary, full-time Accounting Manager to join our team! This role is based in our Burlington Head Office.
JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will have the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all finance and accounting areas. Reporting to the CEO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing periodic financial statements for multiple companies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- CPA Designation an asset
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, reporting, payroll and Canadian payroll regulations
- Strong technical experience with NetSuite ERP system is an asset
- Distribution & Manufacturing industry experiences are an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Microsoft 365
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Efficient/effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
- Enhanced attention to detail to produce error free work
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience with applying initiative to the betterment of departmental processes and functions
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with appropriate judgement
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee accounting staff and related functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger
- Review accounts receivable report and support any overdue outstanding balances
- Ensure accuracy of vendor bills with proper supporting documents by approval process
- Review and approve vendor bill payments to ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation
- Process salaried and hourly payroll via ADP. Ensure payroll processing, statutory remittance, production of tax forms, annual payroll returns and statements filing to government bodies
- Detailed review of T4’s and T5’s to ensure compliance
- Oversee, review, prepare and/or record financial transactions including journal entries and schedules to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of records with appropriate back-up documentation
- Review and/or maintain asset listings, amortization and disposal records are appropriately maintained
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded in the appropriate revenue and expense accounts in the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Manage review and/or prepare month-end and year-end close of financial records, in addition to communication with external accountant
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly Canadian sales tax returns (e.g., GST/HST, QST) and other annual filings or returns as required by legislative bodies
- Prepare and file quarterly UK sales tax returns (VAT)
- Manage group health insurance plan, such as adding and removing employees, reviewing monthly bills
- Review and provide financial reports, variance analysis, other reports required.
- Review and process monthly multiple company transactions.
- Ensure accuracy of multiple foreign exchange transactions (USD, EURO, GBP, etc.)
- Attend and participate in regular management meetings as required
- Act as the back-up to the CEO for select job duties and responsibilities when required.

Salary: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
