Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounts Payable Supervisor provides leadership to the accounts payable team to execute full cycle accounts payable in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with company policies. The Supervisor will be a key contributor to the month-end close process ensuring completeness and accuracy of expense accruals, including T&E, as well as provide reliable reporting and analysis of accounts payable. We are looking for a seasoned accounts payable professional who is self-motivated and keen to drive efficiencies and optimize processes in a fast-growing public company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the accounts payable team in processing payments timely and accurately in accordance with company processes and policies.
- Manage and coordinate month-end close activities including closing the accounts payable subledger, preparing expense accruals and performing account/vendor statement reconciliations.
- Supervise, develop and guide team members by allocating tasks, managing performance, setting goals and objectives and providing ongoing mentorship and training.
- Provide reporting and analysis on accounts payable by entity.
- Oversee weekly payment runs to ensure payments are made in accordance with vendor payment terms while optimizing cash flow.
- Review EFTs, ACHs, wires and cash transfers for accurate and timely execution.
- Control the accounts payable inbox and delegate to team members for optimal execution.
- Ensure timely resolution of accounts payables queries to maintain positive relations and communication with stakeholders.
- Review tax filings and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Continuously drive implementation of leading practices and internal controls within the accounts payable function.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years leading an accounts payable team.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growing company is an asset.
