Reporting to the Director of Talent & Organizational Development, this position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Talent and Organizational Development programs across the province and provides confidential administrative support to the Director and OD consultants. This position also provides administrative support to individuals, committees and working groups as assigned, as well as facilitation and coordination of other T&OD administrative operations in support of the department’s goals and objectives.
The Administrative Assistant ensures that the principles and practices that guide NS Health, such as the vision, mission, values, expected behaviours, leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the work that they do.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized office/business administration program required; HR Diploma or certificate is an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative support position.
- Experience in Human Resources administration in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Experience using SAP, Time Capture, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, Zoom, and/or Select Survey is an asset.
- Advanced computer training and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint), as well as the ability and initiative to acquire additional skills and training as necessary.
- Significant experience and expertise with the development and maintenance of documents, spreadsheets and databases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (listening, written and verbal), with demonstrated ability to comfortably communicate with stakeholders at all levels with a high degree of professionalism, tact, sound judgement and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, synthesize information, solve problems, and apply sound judgement in decision-making.
- Ability to recognize sensitive issues and respond appropriately.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to accurately prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and highly confidential environment.
- Ability to present relevant administrative information (e.g., financial reports, scheduling, etc.) in a timely, concise, and effective manner.
- Ability to take and transcribe minutes, and to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently.
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

$22.98 - $28.72 Hourly
