Job Description
Our pediatric cardiology clinic requires a highly motivated team member to work as a part time medical office assistant.
We are a well-established private pediatric cardiology clinic in Calgary. We are looking for an inspired and committed individual who is highly organized, detail oriented, with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Sort incoming faxes and mail
- Answer telephone calls, retrieving and returning messages
- Booking appointments and communicating these to patients
- Organizing and faxing outgoing referrals, requisitions, and results
- Collecting patient data as well as creating patient charts
- Assist with tracking down missing documents
- Reviewing doctors dictations for accuracy
- Preparing patients for consultation
- Submitting billing and reconciliation of billing for doctors
- Any other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Medical office assistant and billing experience (minimum of 2 years)
- Medical EMR experience and charting
- Patient management and phone skills
- Computer skills in appointment booking, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
Qualifications:
- Medical office assistant diploma/certificate
- At least 2 years medical office assistant experience
- Proof of all vaccinations will be required
Job Type: Part time, no weekends or holidays
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Part-time hours: 24 per week
