Under general direction and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT is responsible for providing administrative support to a SBGH Program Director and/or Clinical Director (or delegate).
- Three (3) years related experience preferably in a hospital or other health care setting.
- Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program.
- or -
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative secretarial program, plus successful completion of a recognized medical terminology course.
An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

- Keyboarding speed: 55 wpm
- Shorthand/Speedwriting skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of current and related software including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, powerpoint, internet and email applications.
- Knowledge of University administrative procedures would be an asset.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
